Safe Spacers, 2026

Safe Spacers, 2026

The Safe Spacers is an international project in partnership with partners: Zavod Krog (Slovenia), Espace Jeunes (France), Legambiente Ligonchio APS (Italy), Salamandra Activa (Spain), and Elios Armenia (Armenia). The project is designed to strengthen the capacities of youth workers, youth leaders, and decision-makers in creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments where young people can actively participate in community life and democratic processes.

Based on the needs of contemporary youth work, the project focuses on the development of practical approaches that enable professionals to engage young people more effectively in social life. Participants will be provided with concrete tools, non-formal learning methods, and intercultural experiences that can be directly applied in their daily work with young people.

Particular emphasis is placed on empowering youth workers as facilitators and multipliers of democratic participation. Through this approach, the project contributes to the creation of spaces where young people's voices are heard, valued, and integrated into the social, cultural, and political life of local communities.

The following outputs will be developed within the project:

  • a toolkit of methods and tools for youth work;

  • the #SafeSpacers digital campaign;

  • a series of public events and exhibitions aimed at raising awareness about the importance of youth participation and inclusion.

Through the project, at least 100 young people and 30 key stakeholders across the partner countries will be directly reached. The results are expected to contribute to greater recognition of youth work as a key driver of democratic participation, inclusion, and social innovation.

The project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme.
