Covid-19: support to families, Egypt, 2020
Institute Circle provided food, cleaning products and psychosocial assistance to vulnerable Egyptian families due to Covid-19, 2020
Due to the economic crisis during the spread of Covid-19, Institute Circle distributed food, cleaning and disinfectant packages to more than 100 vulnerable Egyptian families, most of them women, school supplies and toys to children, as well as one-to-one psychosocial support to the most vulnerable women. The Covid-19 activities were carried out in the framework of the project "Awareness and Education about Children's Rights in Egypt" in cooperation with SOS Children's Villages.
The main objective of the project is to educate Egyptian children about children's rights through the "Our Rights" manual. 14 workshops on different rights were completed by about 650 children in Tanta and Alexandria, while workshops on children's rights for about 650 children in Cairo and another 250 children in Alexandria and Tanta were suspended due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 and resumed in the new school year. The workshops were delivered by teachers or school psychologists who participated in the train-the-trainers training in January and February 2020 to deliver the workshops according to the "Our Rights" manual.
